April 2015 scuba diving in review

Posted on May 07 2015 by admin

It's been an Autumn of extremes: floods in Brisbane, snow in Tassie, cyclones in Western Australia. But much of Australia has enjoyed sensation weather and excellent scuba diving conditions.

Cyclone Quang had the potential to interrupt the Whale Shark dive and snorkel season on Ningaloo Reef and Coral Bay, but seemed not to have that affect. According to Ningaloo Reef Dive it's effectively another day another five or six whale shark sightings during April. Sounds amazing and good luck to those who've managed some time in the water with these magnificent creatures. Did you know you can sail Coral Bay in the lap of luxury and experience Whale Sharks, Manta Rays and the like? - For more infomration check out Sail Ningaloo Dive Charters

Lady Elliot Dive Shop reports intimate Manta Ray experiences several days running in early May. The Lighthouse Bommies produced the goods with great visibility for the lucky divers involved. These Manta Ray pictures speak for themselves:

In other news, Sundive Byron Bay reported the early arrival of Grey Nurse sharks at Julian Rocks in Northern New South Wales. This is a great sign for the upcoming Byron Bay Grey Nurse shark season!

Stay tuned for our next scuba diving month in review update :)
